I am a Christian living in a place where 70% of the populaton is Muslim. I have co-workers who are Muslims as well as members of my family marrying Muslims. I know a lot of their practice, rituals, and culture.

To the first answerer (this word does exists? ) to this question, FYI Muslim population in Mindanao Island is minor with just more or less 15-20% of the total Mindanao inhabitants. Their concentration are in the provinces of Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, the Sulu Archipelago, 50-50 in Cotabato City and more or less 30% in Iligan City. Look into it (Mindanao Map) and you will see. Mindanao is as big as South Korea. In the cities like Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Butuan, Surigao, etc., you will see them our Muslim neighbors mostly are engaged in retail businesses. Another minority group in the island is composed of the Lumads ( like Higa-onon who are commonly called in the Agusan provinces as "Gali", which some numbersare also in the Bukidnon province.

Search for their offices in Hawaii, call them up or better yet visit them and ask if you can talk to members who are Filipino.

you said you want to go where they worship and pray,so your going to the philippines?
problem is filipino muslims are not hospitable,i’m not even sure if you can come back alive,it’s a risk.

This is so stupid and irrelevant to him being worthy or capable as a president. I am a black woman who has a very close white friend who is married to a man who still uses the "N" word on a regular basis! Do I disassociate with my friend because of her husband's racist language or views? No. She is not him. She is a great person married to a man who she differs from on many issues. We all have friends and associates that have views that we do not necessarily agree with, this is common. Move on!

cardio is the way to go try to get up to 1 hr a day, run , jumping rope or a bike ride like a 10 speed in low gear . Eat more veggies
and don’t cut out carbs totally just have small portions of them.
You body will burn more calories from working out everyday and if you eat balanced meals your body should start burning your stored energy (fat) try to stay away from fat in foods so the fat that gets broken down for energy is from your body and not your diet. the only way to speed up your body’s calorie intake is a high cardio work out push ups and crunches too and remember to eat veggies for snacks when I train hard I’m always hungry and don’t want to get a bad habit of loading up on junk after working so hard. Another thing is having high protein in your diet to aid in the development of muscle tissue that will in turn burn more cals. Stay away from the scale, drink plenty of water and if your not sweating heavy your not working hard enough. Good Luck

are you going to make an in-dept study about Filipino Muslims? I am a muslim convert for almost 30 years in Manila, there are many filipino muslims now, and as mutya said, she can assist you with such work.The internet is also available. And since Filipino muslims have many varied tribes, there is a bit difference in connection with their culture. Such as the tausug women (sulu) would bring along a kris (malayan wavy sword) to a man she desired for marriage and would request that she be murdered if the man would deny her without just reasons,(i heard this story from a tausug friend) There are many other such related stories. Specially in interfaith marriage or those who convert to Christianity for convenience. i am open to assist you in your project, for the sake of Allah,most gracious most high.You are timely to ask and learn about islam for it is the month of ramadhan now, the time when all the holy scriptures were revealed to mankind.
