does rock naturally exist on hawaii?
I think Lava, cold lava, would be considered rock because it is hard. Is there a natural rock that exists on the islands of hawaii. Granite, Limestone, etc. Actually Limestone is compressed sand and minerals? Is that correct. I guess it depends on how you define rock or stone?
Any help?
God Bless

Cold, solidified lava is indeed a rock, most of the lava on Hawaii is a rock called basalt.
I am not sure (as I am not familiar with the local geology) if limestone exists on Hawaiii but it may as a result of coral reefs. Limestone is not "Compressed sand and minerals" – this is more a description of sandstone, which is sand, cemented together into rock. Limestone is mostly the mineral Calcium Carbonate, the carbonate crystalises to form the rock.
I would not expect granite to be found on Hawaii as granite, though it is solidified magma, like basalt has a different chemical composition, and also is formed when magma solidifies deep underground, not erupted out onto the surface as we see in Hawaii

There are three main groups of rock , igenous, sedimetary, and metamorphic. Now through the rock cycle each rock group can change from one to the next.
Now being the igneous is the most common rock group because that group has been here since the Earth was born, consists of molten lava or magma cooled and hardend.
Granite may exist there because it is a type of igenous rock.
Hawaii is a volcanic island therefore it is constantly creating new rock each time a volcano erupts there..
Limestone is made from calicte mostly through heat and pressure it can become a metamorphic rock known as marble,
