Catholic Charities Hawaii celebrated the grand opening of its new Clarence T. C. Ching Campus, located on 2.2 acres in Makiki on March 31, 2010. Senator Daniel K. Inouye, Lt. Governor James Duke Aiona, Mayor Mufi Hannemann, Bishop Larry Silva, Larry Rodriguez, Chuck Jones, Father Larry Snyder, Jerry Rauckhorst and representatives of The Clarence T. C. Ching Foundation were on hand for the formal dedication, which included blessings of the new Campus and Peace Pole, maile untying ceremony and formal remarks.

www.mikegabbard.blogspot.com Talk about a long-time coming! It was awesome to attend and speak at the dedication ceremony for Kualaka’i Parkway (formerly North-South Road) on February 11th. The cost of this 2.3 mile road, which links Kapolei Parkway to Farrington Highway in West Oahu, was $155 million, with 80% of the cost paid by the feds. The actual construction of this road took 4 years but Hawaii residents have been waiting for over 20 years for it to be built.
